Just 27 km from Guatemala City, Finca Agua Tibia sits at 1600–1700 masl and benefits from a unique microclimate defined by high mountains, persistent cloud cover, and low luminosity for several months each year.
The 255-hectare farm includes 180 hectares of coffee, 56 of which are in current production, and 455 hectares of protected forest. Agua Tibia focuses on quality, with its own coffee nursery, in-house seed propagation, and grafting techniques. Cultivated varieties include Pache, Bourbon, Mundo Novo, Geisha, Caturra, Catuaí, and Typica.
All coffee is processed on the farm. Cherries are held overnight after picking, then depulped and dry fermented for up to 38 hours. Drying takes place slowly on patios over 14 days. Processing is fully traceable and uses water from the farm’s natural springs, which also supply local communities.
Beyond coffee, the farm also grows avocados, vegetables, and ornamental flowers—creating year-round employment opportunities for nearby residents.
