La Isabela is part of the El Samán Coffee Farms project, which includes three farms: El Samán, La Isabela, and Villa Dory. All three are owned by the Zuluaga family, who have been cultivating coffee for five generations. Together, the farms span 27 hectares and are home to a variety of cultivars, including Papayo (also known as "Ombligón"), Yellow Caturra, Pink Bourbon, Cenicafé, Sidra, and Chiroso.

Jaime, a 71-year-old former lawyer, now dedicates his life fully to coffee farming and agriculture. The Papayo variety, originally discovered in Huila, was imported to the farm and became the foundation for developing a 240-hour carbonic maceration protocol at El Samán.
